Working on
this size of units required some mind games to help keep you going. I started
in pure mass-production mode, and then switched to completing certain stages
in batches
to help things along. As you can see, I've made the decision to get the
grenadier company and officers
ahead of the game slightly, and you can also see that I painted each figure in
tiny steps. I would paint all the belts, then all the little bits between the
collar and belts, then all the waistcoats, then all the turnbacks and so on.
Sometimes, I would change the order
just to keep myself on my toes and make sure I was paying attention! It's amazing
how your eyes can glaze over and miss things when you're slapping paint on 80
figures in one go.
